Sometimes people or things cross your path and you don’t know why or how but you either grab the opportunity or you let it slip you by… and so it was that in the end of 2010 I was approached by Mike Morehen to join into a new and exciting triathlon team. TEAM INOV-8.
INOV-8 is a UK based company specializing in LIGHT WEIGHT, EXTREME GRIP, and NATURAL RUNNING shoes, and has won numerous awards for their products.
What is a “natural” running shoe? According to the specialists, a natural running shoe promotes your running biomechanics to run as close to as possible to running barefoot. Lots of ideas sprung from the “barefoot” running communities, analyzing their strides and looking at their foot strike, forefoot roll, stresses on joints when the foot lands on different places and angles. And what they have seen is that with barefoot runners there is more of a mid-forefoot foot placing, a natural outer to inner, mid to forefoot roll (supination to pronation) and an increased tension build up in the Achilles and plantar fascia to increase the push off phase of the foot. Thus making you faster and more agile over rough terrain.
INOV-8 had taken all of this into consideration and built a shoe to promote all of these aspects of barefoot running and added a superior light weight, breathable upper mesh and a sticky grippy sole to give you the speed and traction needed in any off-road,trail and road event!
